This stained glass panel is my rendition of a Mackintosh Rose made popular in the Art Nouveau period of the early 1900's. The roses design was created by Architect and Interior Designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Among the most popular of his designs is the Mackintosh Rose, a distinctive use of soft curves and hard angles.
The panel is an Art Nouveau style rose made of red, yellow, green rolled glass with a multi-colored Art Deco style tail multicolored translucent glass. The rose is set in a field of multi textured clear glass. The piece is built using the Tiffany Style foiling method encased in a frame of 1/4 inch zinc. The patina is a shiny silver but can be enhanced with an old school black patina, if preferred.
